Assuming price is not the issue, how does ATI ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 9600 XT fare as a capture card for miniDV > DVD and TV > DVD conversions?

I have ATI TV Wonder VE currently, will AIW 9600 XT be a much better capture card?

  2. That's the one I have - I'm very happy with it (game performance is also very good in Half Life 2 btw).

It will definitely be a big improvement over the TV Wonder VE (I don't think the TVW VE supports full resolution capturing).

  3. i have one; i think it's great. capturing directly to MPEG2 works perfectly.
but if youre trying to capture from an mimiDV camers, i would suggust just using firewire....

    Yes, for analog captures.
Just transfer your DV to the PC via firewire.

A side note - the 9600XT is the only ATI product that comes with the Remote Wonder II. You can't even purchase the new version of their remote controller seperately!
