  1. Hi,
I have a Sony PC110E (PAL Version) and a Liteon 5005 USA version.
I tried to transfer some video throught the iLink, but it failed.
I can control the camcorder with the remote of the dvd without problems, but I cannot see any picture in the TV during the process and when I stop the recording it says "Recording cancelled".
Is it possible it doesn't reconnize the video because is in Pal?
    Thank you

SOME DVD Recorders can record in both PAL and NTSC. I'm not sure if a Liteon can. If possible....try through something other than the firewire...like the cinch(RCA) or S-Video if equipped.

  3. I managed to set my camcorder to "play to NTSC TV" and I transferred without problems through composite, but still no luck with firewire.
I checked the setup of the dvd recorder and the only pal setting is for playing to Pal tv..... Not what I need.
I assume that when I set my camcorder to play to NTSC tv it only convert the signal for the composite.
I will check the s-video to see if it is enable too for NTSC, so that I will improve the quality a little more.
    Thank you for the help.

    Wish mine had that.....
Oh by the way....there usually is not a setting to change as to whether or not your DVD Recorder can record "the other" format. IF it can do it....all you need is a virgin disc in the machine and if it is capable....it will just record the incoming PAL signal(in your case) without you even knowing it.
At least my Philips works that way anyway.....your mileage may vary....
