Video and audio restoration... the process of improving the quality of your audio and video ... whether by means of hardware or software.... is a topic that is sometimes mentioned on this site, and in these forums, but the topic really has no home.
This is a major topic for many people, and does not really fit into any other category. We see random posts about it all over the place (usually capturing forum or general forum), and it would do this forum a great service to keep these topics well organized in their own home.
And if you need somebody to help moderate the new place, count me in.
The only problem I can foresee is people putting some "capturing" questions in there, most likely false MV errors, but that's not hard to move. A couple of stickies would fix that.

Absolutely.
Hey, is there a correlation between LS suggesting he moderate a forum a short time after the poll regarding the next moderator ?
hmmmmmmmmm .........If in doubt, Google it.

I think it's a great idea. There are a lot of people out there with old video tapes and old 8MM movies of the family that they would like to convert to DVD or electronic media.
With the advent of cheaper DVD recorders and media, it's practical for anyone with a decent home computer to do conversions. There are a lot of newbies that have a hard time sorting out the hype from some software companies. Filtering can be especially complicated.
It would be nice to have a central source for restoration information.

I can see LS spending a lot of time in it, (hopefully) sharing all his trade secrets
If in doubt, Google it.

If the demand is there, and it's worthy of it's own forum (which, it seems, it is), then why not?
But who would moderate it...
Maybe that guy who topped the poll "If All The Moderators Were Banned...."There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
Carpe diem.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

I'm sorry, I love it here, Capmaster. I'm big-time into restoring my old VHS trade-tapes onto DVD etc. I've learnt SOOOOO much here. I'm sorry I can't give much back (except stupid drunken comments here & there). I think I've kinda "perfected" my method, tho', and I would love to share things & also learn things in a "Video Restoration" forum.
I don't NOT like it here at all. There's no other forum like this. There's hardly any moderation, IMO!!!
Congratulations to Baldrick from Sverige!!! (?) Helga En Onanering!!! Javla Svin!
