What's the resolution for widescreen dvds? When I encode a 720x480 video for dvd, I get black bars on the side. Using TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress. Thanks

I figured it out, had to switch from full screen to center under the edit options.

I think TMPGEnc Plus (don't know about the new one) tended to size things to a width of 704 with 8 black pixels on either side.
Depending on the source this is sometimes correct ... somtimes not.
Many commercially made DVD discs have a bit of black on either side.
You never see it on a TV because of TV OVERSCAN.
