  1. Hi, i have a divx file that i want to make into a vcd but it's to long, does anyone know how to cut the divx in half with any program?

  2. What program are you using to encode the MPEG? If you are using TMPGenc is easier to just encode 1/2 the DivX.

    1) Load desired source and template
    2) Click on settings, then the advance tab
    3) Double click on source range. Choose the desired start/stop times

    If you want to do a batch encode. Choose file save project. Then go back to source range, choose the 2nd 1/2 of the DivX, give the output file a different name, choose file save project.

    Then choose file | batch encode. Load both projects and hit run.

    Additional aside - if you encode the audio seperately from the video it will speed up the encode (either extract wav file with Virtual Dub, or use tooLame).

  3. try to use avichop or virtualdub to cut your divx

    I think avichop is the best and fastest way to cut divx. You can find the proggie on this site in "how to / edit".
