    Hello,

I think you left your caps lock on

You can use a filter called delogo in virtualdub or virtualdubmpeg2 (if its mpeg). Just do an internet search for "delogo".

It's not perfect and may leave a watery afterimage but it will remove it. But virtualdub only outputs to avi so you have to reencode it to mpeg for dvd authoring

it would also help not to download the workprint version but buy the dvd :

since smpte timecode is changing numbers -- about all you can do it to crop or mask it off .. logoaway is more for static images ..

yea i know it is not your workprint -- it is the studio's workprint you downloaded

you can use logo away and just make a mask ...

honestly it would be better to just leave it .. (and get the dvd) ....

If I may make a non ethnic comment .
Who says it is a copyrighted work?
If you are going to start that you may as well challange all the 700Mb avi to mpeg conversions.

We'll manage to get by nicely without you

i never said it was a copyrighted work and i added a smile face when i said he downloaded it ...

i am also one of the few who helped him ...

but it doesnt take a genus to figure out if he

    A) doesnt know what smpte time code is and
    B) has it in a avi file format

it is MOST likely a downloaded workprint ... so get off your high horses - and if so concerned: you answer his questions ..

if I (or any other moderator) knew it was copyrighted downloaded or not legal video for sure - we would have locked the thread ..

maybe i'm a little more touchy because I WORK in the film industry and warez movies do effect my income to some extent ...

    Hello,

Here is a thread you should read:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=232456&highlight=delogo

It's all about a delogo filter for virtualdub. Or virtualdubmpeg2 if its a mpeg file.

It's pretty simple to use once you get the hang of it.

Virtualdub only outputs to avi so you'll have to encode it to mpeg or use an authoring progam that accepts avi files if you're making a dvd

    Kevin

--It's not perfect and my leave a watery afterimage depending on how large and how much motion the image your trying to remove has. --

    Hello,

This weekend I'll try to get some step by step screen shots and post some info for you. It can be tricky the first time.

Hang in there the results can be impressive

sounds like a screener. I have seen this before many times, a screener is an advanced copy of a movie that is in the theatre. If it has a counter it may very well be an MGM Screener. They use this and also use watermarking meaning the movie turns black and white at times. Not saying you have a Screener, just that is what it sounds like. Getting rid of that counter is futile. It will ruin the movie and if you have a screener the DVD is just around the corner.
You could import the movie into Premiere, crop the top or bottom where the counter is providing it is your work.. guess that is a stupid assumption..lol.. why would ya add a counter to your own movie.. lol

    EXACTLY.

Much, much easier/quicker/better off to buy the DVD.

BTW, there is no such thing as "backing up from internet files"

If you own the DVD, then you have a right to back it up .... and it's much easier, better quality .... and .... and you get the picture

If you own the DVD, I cannot think of any comprehensible reason to back up from internet files, you'd just use the DVD, wouldn't you ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

if ti has a timecode on it - it is generally a workprint used for ADR, audio, rough editing , screen tests and the like ..

screeners i receive (as a guild member) i do not ever recall having a timecode on them with in the safe area ..
