  1. Hi
With todays newer DvD platers, will a NTSC DvD play in England. I'm from Canada and am wondering if my home made DvD's will play with the standard equipment in England. If not, what will it play like?

    Thanks

    Hello,

Well I think ntsc will play over there but only if it's region free. Otherwise you could just rip it to region free and burn it. Then it should work.

I've learned many players over there will do the frame rate conversion for you

All dvd players supports ntsc and pal, it is usually the TV that doesn't support both formats. Most newer tvs in europe supports both formats.

    Hi
NTSC/PAL compatibility of video tape recorders and dvd players in the u.k. was a selling point only a couple of years or so ago, but now it really is just the norm from the cheapest budget model upwards. I've purchased, over the internet and whilst on holiday, region 1 dvd's and have never had a problem playing them on u.k. machines. I'm unsure if it is the fact that u.k. tv's are multi format or whether the machines turn the NTSC signal into PAL. None of my tv's show NTSC compatibility, but all the video recorders and dvd players do.

I've said this many times but I'll repeat it again /the capitals don't mean shouting here/:
99% OF ALL VIDEO EQUIPMENT /DVD PLAYERS AND TV/ IN EUROPE /the %-age with the VCRs is smaller/ WILL PLAY NTSC AND ALL OTHER FORMATS. ALL EQUIPMENT UNLIKE HERE IN US IS VIRTUALLY MULTISYSTEM.

    Enjoy!
