Sorry for this basic question guys, I know i have asked before but been away for so long and forgot, when I add a svcd file to tmpgenc it says unsupported file type - what is it I download again? I wanna put a film onto dvd with the best quality available.

    Cheers

The full version(pay version) of IsoBuster would be my way of taking the video from an SVCD.

Best to encode the file to 352x480/576 to make it dvd compliant so you can author it.Are you trying to encode a avi or mpg to svcd with tmpgenc encoder or are you trying to add a svcd mpg file to tmpgenc dvd author?
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

svcd2dvd or svcd2dvdmpg might be what you're looking for... Or use DVDLab Pro to author - it's rumored to swallow SVCD mpegs as DVD source material.

Johns0, I have a 2 disc SVCD movie but I wanna convert it to one file dvdr, I know VCDs are more straightforward, but I did this a while back with another svcd, but I cant remember what addon or plugin I need for tmpgenc to support mpeg files. The files in the svcd are mpg files not dat files so when i add them to tmpgenc I get the msg Unsupported file type error. I need a mpg plug in, I think!

I think what you want is tmpgenc mpeg2 plugin. You can also open the file in virtual dub mpeg2 and frameserve to tmpgenc.
