For many years now, I see these Red, Green and Blue inputs/outputs in my equipments, and for that same amount of years, I avoid them. I stick to what I know best; yellow, red and white. Yellow for video, and red and white for audio.

I recently read complaints about how certain dvd recorders did not have RGB in.

1.) So what are these and what's the big deal?
2.) Is RGB also for video and audio?
3.) To use them, do you need to buy RGB component cables? Or, can you use the YRW?
4.) Can you OUT from RGB and IN to YRW? Can you OUT from YRW and IN to RGB? Reason I ask is because my digital box only has one YRW out, but I need to split it two places. I see these unused RGB, can I use that as an out and into a YRW? Picture quality compromised?

    Thanx in advance!

    RGB in needs RGB out.
You see this on projection equipment, etc.
    Not tv sets.

People bitch/moan/complain too much, especially online. If they need an RGB-capable player, which is still not a very common necessity, then they need to find a RGB-capable player.

Okay, I just read a brief tutorial on RGB. From my understanding, it's just for video, not audio.
I see that my dvd recorder has an RGB out, but I take it if you don't have a projections tv or HD, then you don't need to worry about this?

Are we talking component outputs here ?

By the way you reference composite as yellow-red-white, I'm thinking the RGB you are describing is the component plugs ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
