  1. I had a hi8 tape from a while back, and a while back when i first got my burner i used a digital 8 camcorder to capture the video via firewire and don't remember how i burned it, but the dvd plays fine on comp, doesn't work on standalone... and there are video_ts folders and vob files, no menus or anything... wasn't my tape but my friend said the tape doesn't work anymore so re capturing isn't an option...

how do i rip it, re encode it and burn it so it works on standalone, and possibly, if i can rip it into mpg files i could create menus, but the main thing is how do i rip it and re-encode it to mpeg 2 and burn using adobe encore 1.5???

    thanks in advance...

ReJig can extract the mpeg from VOBs. It doesn't have to be ripped, since it's not encrypted.

or just try import the video_ts in tmpgenc dvd author, select add dvd video.

and the dvd to dvdr is mainly for commercial dvds to dvd. i'm moving you.
