    I can see why... Huh??

I'm curious about anyone's experience in making a business card size VCD. I'm got a 5-minute demo reel that I'm thinking of trying to convert. The upper limit seems to be 50 MB per disk, but the smallest I've been able to create so far is 60 MB (using Toast 6). I'm guessing that I'll have to shorten it by a minute, but I'd be interested to know if anyone else has done this.

  2. You're probably best off in the Mac forum. I've moved this topic for you.

  3. Depending on what progrm you're using...you can usually choose to lower the audio bitrate, or set it to mono (if it's in stereo). that can usually drop a file of that size by about 10 megs or so.

Now, one problem a lot of business card discs have if that many dvd players have a hard time loading them, occasionally damaging both the dvd player and the disc.

    good luck though!

What most people don't know is that the VCD specifications actually list 1150kbits as the MAX combined bitrate. You can go as low as you want and still be compliant, so you can simply lower the bitrate rather then edit out content. Even though it makes the disk non-compliant, I think lowering the audio bitrate is probably a better option though.

I've made business card cdrs for clients before but they were only to be played on pcs. Honestly, I stopped making them simply because many people don't know what they are. They don't realize that it can actually be played in a regular dvd/cd-rom drive.

Well, hopefully the clients that I'd be handing them to have enough brains to put it in their DVD player. And if they don't have a DVD player, they're probably not in the same business I'm in.

Actually, now that I'm considering the "brains" factor, maybe the label should say "Put this in your DVD player."
