    angel,

    if this card is an AVI type capture card, then you can you (should) be
    using the app it came with, else you can use:
    * avi_io
    * Virtualdub
    * others (see Tools section to your left in RED color)

    Making VCDs are ok for most people intested in 1 cd, while others,
    like myself want nothing but the best, so 2 or even 3 cd's is ok with
    us. Me, I prefer not more than 2 cd's, unless the move is more than
    an hour. I mostely capture Satalette TV programs.

    Codecs?
    * Huffy, of course
    * or else, people here use DivX (I don't care to use this)

    I've used the DC10+ with its hardware MJPEG (avi) file capture, I could
    not capture at 352x480, so I had to capture at 640x480 and then
    (you can see a sample clip from my DC10 on my website) resize
    down to 480x480 for SVCD (at the time I was producing these
    encodes, but a short time ago, I started going with 352x480.
    Now, I use the ATI-TV Wonder card, working along side my
    ATI Rage Fury Pro (agp) card and I get great captures with it.
    My website is now becoming flooded with sample clips form my ATI-TV
    Wonder.

    TIP:
    ----
    * if you can, get an AGP video card. I think (starting to believe) that
    it does actually make a difference in captures, as far as minimizing
    on the frame drops. . . .used to have an ATI Rage 128, and used to
    drop frames like flies on horse-sh_t, but now, I barely drop any!, he, he....
