it seems to take quite a period of time before conversion can be complete.

How long does EO need to fully convert a movie of mayb 2 hrs ???

Yes 'Real Media' conversion is slow, it's an intense and clumsy format (much like that Quicktime format :P - beats me why anyone uses them ).

As an example, to convert a 2hr 320x240 @ 25fps video to DIVX using EO Video,
on an Athlon 1100 = 6.0 hrs,
on a Pentium 3000 = 5.5 hrs (even having a faster CPU doesn't have much affect).
Of course the higher the video resolution the longer it's going to take.

Yes you can convert to DIVX with EO Video.
Go to the 'Converter' tab and select 'Profile'.
Under the 'Video' tab click on 'Compression' and in the compression drop-down list select the DIVX codec, use the 'Settings' button to set the bit rate.
