  1. I have a tv-movie on DVD. however the offical DVD cuts an huge 4 mintue scene from it . I have the scene on a version I taped from the TV and have re-edited my own version just re-in-serting the deleted scene (perfect). However i had to burn that back just a simple DVD with no menus etc

What I want to know is, can I re-make the DVD with all the orginal menus etc but the main 'video' file I want to replace with my 'modifed version'

DON'T SAY DVD-REMAKE that will only let you change each chapter and I want to replace the WHOLE thing with a alternative file.. that won't let me
DVD region settings are a joke, I can't believe how stupid people are falling for it

    Hello,

Check out ifoedit. I'm no expert with it but I imagine it might be able to let you plop in a new video on top of the exisiting structure. I'm sure there's a guide or two on ifoedit here.

    Good luck

I believe VobBlanker will allow you to replace an entire vob with another. I had a DVD which contained the widescreen and fullscreen versions. I was able to replace the fullscreen version with the widescreen version using VobBlanker. I essentially had a DVD with two widescreen versions of the movie.

Why did I do it? I have no idea. Goofing around.

Just in case you did not know, DvdReMake has a "bulk" replace feature. It will replace all chapters in original with chapters from another file.

@Jumbo-Holden, I don't know if you have DVDremake but if anyone does then you could split the cell before the missing scene. Replace the first half of the split cell with the original cell you just split and replace the 2nd half of the cell with the missing scene. That should simulate inserting a cell anywhere into a DVD . You can also convert the inserted cell into a Program (Chapter)

that would save having to create and replace the whole PGC

Tried that 1st. It just messes all the chapter points up and im left with a mess, So its easier for me to replace the whole thing

Ive already done it, i just want to put the orginal menus etc back on. I'll try the other menthods people have said and get back to you on it

did you use the latest version and did you convert it to a program?

if you convert it to a program (chapter) then it may mess up the original chapters after the inserted cell. If you leave it as a cell then it shouldn't really affect the original chapters so I'm puzzled as to how it affected the chapters

if you add a chapter and the replace the whole DVD then you may find that the chapters are messed up in the menus. Whereas replacing a widescreen version with a fullscreen version would have the same chapters etc. Saying that it could also work as I've never tried replacing a whole movie with a new scene inserted

there is another way but you won't get a chapter for the inserted video

extract the cell that is just before the cut scene. Join the cut scene to that and then insert the extended cell into the original cell. Make sure the VOB/Cell ID's are the same when joining by using VID changer
