One program I am trialling to convert .ts files to mpg2 is HDTVtoMPEG2, but after it has finished its conversion, all I am left with is a 3kb mpg file.
Anyone know what is wrong, the instructions for the program sound so straight forward?
thanks in advance.

most of the time that happend to me, it was due to the network broadcast being funky.. So for example 5 months ago, everything on FOX, when converted with a newer version of HDTVtoMPEG2 ended up as a tiny file..
Older version of the program would convert the same FOX ts file it but it would stutter on sound.. Now everything off FOX is fine and can be converted with the newest version of the program.
Same for another person, on another board who only had an issue with NBC.. So I would suggest recording something else, from another network and see if it converts ok.. if so, odds are you have ran into some non-standard something..
I know that's pretty vauge here and not really the fix you are looking for but not sure there is much one can do about it.. I mean as you know, the whole process of converting with HDTVtoMPEG2 is a no brainer.. Load files, check to see you have the right vid channel if your TS file is HD and standard in the same file. click convert and all done.. Not like one can even screw up really..
Only other thing is you might be running an old version like .09 or whatever and the new version will be work better but that is just a guess on my part.. Not even sure what the newest version is, 1.10.5 works fine for me
