  1. We think that if the prices drop in DVD+R DL media .... everything will be perfect.... just rip the dvd in your HDD and then write it in your favorite DL media.....

    NO

I Tried Nero 6.6.0.1., disc freezes in player when layer changes.
I Tried Nero 6.6.0.1. without original layer break flag (ripped with dvd shrink) and with the Nero putting a new layer break..... same problem here.
I tried Nero with main movie only .... same problem

I tried dvd decrypter .... disc will start.... and then freeze.....

My dvd player supports dvd DL......

What is happening? Some have problems with decrypter , some not. Some have problems with nero , some not.

ANYBODY KNOWS which programm to use????????????? PLEASE HELP

Rip disc as ISO, burn as ISO. Also, use decent media... Don't doddle on the computer while burning (surf the net, read email, photoshop your favorite pet).

How are you writing DL on a Pioneer A04?

Welcome to the next phase in the evolution of inconvenience.

Each new recording technology goes through a "black art" phase.

Nowadays there's virtually no such thing as a CD that is "incompatible" with a majority of devices...

DVD's are getting there, finally - it's only taken 3 years.

Dual-layer DVD's... some people just can't make them work, PERIOD. Some people have better luck, but still only mixed compatibility with set-top players.

Give it a while to mature. It's REALLY new technology, relatively speaking.

I've done 5 DL's so far on a Pioneer 108 using Traxdata blanks.

Tried 1st ripping to files with DVDDecrypter then writing with Nero 6.6.
This doesn't work well. Stalls when switching to L2.

Done 4 more using DVDDecrypter ISO read then ISO write.
All 4 have worked very well. They work fine in my Pioneer 343 set top which is usually a good test.

Not a definitive test by any means but FWIW.

  6. edo (which means HERE in Greek ) thank you for the reply....

Maybe it was the movie ..... that was HUGE aprox. 8GB .....

I'll try again today with a different movie again in dvddecrypter iso-read , iso-write.....

Should i check or uncheck something in decrypter or leave everything as default?

I used the latest DVDDecrypter (3.5.1)

Leave the settings as default for DL (Think it says 'Calculate Optimal') where it will use the same layer break point as the original.

I just bought a pack of 5 blanks to experiment with. Think I'll wait for the price to come down before buying any more.

    Good luck ....

  8. Also make sure when you use decrypter and go to burn the image make sure you click on the mds file and not the image file.
