    That was not his question.

It will run fine on 128MB.

He just needs to shut some stuff off.

Before hitting OK select Show Shadows under menu items. Let's the background image show through the icon labels.

    Show windows contents while dragging

    Smooth edges of screen fonts.

    Use visual Styles.

i realize that wasn't, but i tried to run xp off a similar system and even after tweaking the hell out of it, the only thing that got it to run somewhat effectively was another stick of ram. It will run on less, sure, but in my experience not very well. it isn't expensive these days, so why not?

i agree. my sister just bought a brand new dell and they put 128mb (64x2 ) and it runs like utter crap. nothing i could do really helped it

  10. HEHE I always say 256 MB of RAM minumal but it's not mine and it does run like crap and I installed Serive Pack 2 on it because it had it on there before.

Oh well like I said it's not mine so I don't have to deal with it much longer, I will recommend updating the ram to it's owner.

    Thanks for all your help.

I think I've had it for about 6 or 7 years now not haveing anything to threw it into.

ah, i would take that out. when you got ram running at different speeds it actualy can make things worse.

  14. It's cool has has PC133 128 MB in there but it's only a Celeron 1 Ghz so it's using the slower speed 100 Mhz anyways, it runs fine.

weird i thought by then it was changed over to 184 pin. uh yeah, if its only pc133 i would definately recomend to pick up another stick of at least 128mb. that stuff is dirt cheap these days

  16. Yeah I told the guy whos owns it to grab another stick of 256 MB because most places sell 128 stick for around the same price.
