  1. I am capturing with adobe premiere 6.5 thru my mini dv camcorder Panasonic PV-852. If I try to do anything else on my computer it stops my capture. I've tried to capture with other programs and it does the same thing. I used to be able to do other things while it captured. I can't think of anything that has changed.

    Hi morr1s,

I use Premiere 6 and it's always been like that.

Also, by doing something else you run the risk of taking valuable system resources (CPU / memory) away from the capture that may affect the capture. That may be why it stops...?

  3. I did try a couple of programs that let me capture and do other stuff, but you are right - it's best to walk away and let it do it's thing.

I would open 'Task Manager' and look in the performance tab. If your CPU and memory is maxed out during capture, that would be the problem. Also see if anything else may be running at the same time that is loading down the system.

  5. I also need more memory I am running on 512 pc3200 right now. I know it should be at least a gig for everything I do. The problem is everytime I buy something for my computer I find something else I want/need.
