  1. Does this player support this feature? In the compatibility some say yes but I can't get it to work. I have some svcd's which were authored with DVD2SVCD which played perfectly on my old now broken Apex AD 2100.
Using the Audio button on the Apex remote I could select audio 1 or 2 track..On this new Phillips I can only choose LEFT VOCAL/RIGHT VOCAL/STEREO....? I can't select the second SVCD audio track (directors commentary)..On DVD it does let me select but not with SVCD....
Is there something special I have to do on the remote for this feature to work? I noticed that this remote is a little frustrating to say the least.
SVCD multiple audio tracks (2 of them) is a standard SVCD specification so I assume this feature should be included. I just purchased the player so I assume that it has the latest firmware. the manual says it supports DIVX subs, so I know it the newest firmware. thanks.

Unfortunately, this player will not play the 2nd audio track on any SVCD and there appears to be nothing you can do about it. The only way it might work would be to reburn the video file as a data CD, not SVCD. When you play a data file, it is possible to access more than one track. Yes, SVCD does support 2 audio tracks. Philips wrote the specs, so it's a mystery why the player won't support it. The player also will only recognize the first subtitle track on a SVCD, although I think the specs allow for up to 4 different subtitle tracks. Further more, the subtitles can't be turned off - they are always on for SVCD. SVCD subtitles must be in SVCD format. It can't recognize CVD format subtitles.
