Hello all,
I have just installed an 8x dvd writer(Pioneer A08 I think) in my pc along with my older Pioneer A06. My A08 is on its own Ide channel and the A06 is a slave to my primary hard drive on the second IDE channel. When I try to copy on the fly I get buffer underrun problems at anything above 4x. This does not create a coaster but sometimes gives jerky video. I was wondering if this was because my A06 is not on its own channel and is being slowed down by my hard drive?
I also have to further hard drives installed on a raid controller plugged into my Mobo. Is it possible to fit my primary hard drive on to the raid controller as well and get the pc to boot from it and would this give a speed increase to allow faster copying from disc to disc?
Also is it possible to increase the ripping speed of a dvd writer. I know most are locked to 2x or 4x but was wondering if it were possible to change this?
Any advice would gratefully recieved.
Ian
