Hi this is my First Post at this website and i've been having some problems in conversion using "winAVI"...this are the steps as to what i did with my AVI file

    1. First i had this Movie on my hd for a long time and it was aabout 697mb and it was in AVI format..
    2. then I dled WinAVI and used it to convert the AVI file into .VOB, .BUP, and .IFO files and after conversion i opened up Nero6 and i tried burning it and the nero program said something really complicated ( IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO ABOUT FILE COULD NOT BE REALLOCATED) <---and then can someone explain to what that means...i would really appreciate it..
    3. Then i was like screw that message and dled VOBedit and IFOedit
    4. using VOBedit and IFOedit i took those VOB files that i had made earlier using winAVI and remade them into VOB files again and u know refined them..
    5. Finally i burned my MOVIE and what happens is that My audio gets real slow for some reason and the movie itself pauses while playing...(not long pauses but its like you are watching ANIME)
    6. So after burning about 8 times i wasted about 8dvds and i am getting kinda tired of this thing...can someone plz recommend me a program which i can use to convert AVI files to VOB,BUP,IFO files...
    7. I also tried AVI to SVCD,VCD,DVD but that converts my 697mb file into a superb 3gb MPEG file. i havent tried yet the TMPGENC DVD AUTHOR.. i got as far as adding chapters and creating a menu and thats about it...
i will really appreciate ur help if u really tell me what i am doing rong or can someone plz give me a easier step in how to burn AVI files to a DVD. I WILL REALLY APPRECIATE UR HELP!!!!

First question. What kind of AVI? There are many. My guess: XVID or DIVX. AVIcodec or Gspot will tell you the composition. Tell us what you see.

One easy way to DVD for XVID is TheFilmMachine.

Once you identify the file, you can check 'Convert' to the left for options.

Does your DVD play from the harddrive without issue ? (i.e. before you burn it to disk). You're authoring process is convoluted, and flawed from the start judging by Nero's refusal to burn the winavi files.

If your second option works OK, but is simply too large, you could run it through DVD Shrink as a final step, just to make it fit.
