I want to DVD my collection of bought VHS from the 1990s - but i get the message "copying of this material is not allowed"

I bought one of these devices from http://www.sonel.com/

but it hasnt worked, even with a PSU attached.

Is there a 100% working method to enable recording onto DVD movies of this type - my exact problem is with a Lion King VHS - its an ex rental, so might be classed as a original rented movie type

    Any help would be great!!

    PS im in the UK.

    THANKS!!!!

    Hello,

My hauppauge wintv pvr250 has no problem with commercial vhs tapes. They dub perfectly clear.

The hauppauge is mpg only though so if you want to do a lot of divx stuff you could always use virtualdubmpeg2.

  3. A full frame time base corrector will defeat all copy protection signals. Two good consumer units are the Datavideo TBC-1000 and the AV Tools AVT-8710.

    Hey,

    Thanks for the replies.

After all that, it turns out my VCR that was playing the VID through a S-Video connection id setup ages ago.

I wondered why the macrovision wasnt being removed with my SONEL Macro Master PRO (_ww.sonel.com) scart lead....of course it was being bypassed.

When i removed the Svideo lead, it was forced to use the Scart AV - it therefore used the MMPro and worked a treat, i can now copy VHS to DVD.

It also gave me the opportunity to re-do all my TV\SAT\SKY connections, which are all a lot tidier now also. Inc RGB connectivity i never had before dumping to DVD recorder from Satellite.

    LOL!

    What a day.

    Cheers guys.
