I am trying to convert my analog 8mm camcorder tapes to DVD. After MUCH reading on this site, I installed an AVerMedia DVD EZMaker PCI on my computer (brand new, P4 3Gig, 1 Gig Ram, plenty of hard drive space.) I downloaded iuVCR and followed the digital FAQ instructions. But I don't get any sound. Under video and crossbar, I select "audio line in" but after I try to capture (or preview), the "mute" button is checked again.
I know I have seen references to similar problems on this site, but I can't find them anymore. Do I need to install a new driver?
By the way, when I installed the card, apparently Windows XP already had the driver, as I didn't even have to use the product CD. Perhaps installing those drivers would help?

Sorry for this post; I was tired and desperate. Turns out that the "line in" on my sound card was muted.

Also, you may get better results using the capture software that comes with the device.
