Webcams (Windows driven)

I have been viewing a lot of webcams lately. I've noticed the live action doesn't work (only stills) on a lot of them with Mac OSX while they work fine on my Windows PC. Anyone know of a fix? I am still using 10.2.8.

stills are usually because of a refresh rate built into the code of the page itself, probably something that your mac browser isnt reading.

Good point but still no solution. Actually I am trying to watch a bunch of Michigan Keweenaw Peninsula Lake Superior webcams. There has got to be a patch out there somewhere? Maybe VPC is the solution. I just hate wasting MIPs.

I'd imagine it's more to do with what browser you're using rather than what OS.

I think You have to update to Panther /OS 10.3/ and then update Java too...Thats it..Some of the live cams uses some windows media codec for streaming video, so You have to watch the on a PC...Try this one:

Use cam 3-8...If it works, then everything is fine with Your Safari browser...If not then You should update Java and sys...cam 1 wont work cause it uses mentioned win media codec...Maybe Windows Media Player for Mac OSX can help, but I really dont wanna install that on my Mac..

Thanks (as usual Serbian has the answers), those NYC cameras refresh just fine until I hit the zoom button (maybe that's normal) Here are the cams I have been checking in on (I have a lakeshore lot up there).
