I know years ago that video would sometimes have slight jitters on playback because the hard drive would recalibrate itself regularly and data couldn't read for a brief instant during playback.
There are SCSI hard drives that are known as A/V compliant which recalibrate themselves in a way that allows data to be written or read without interruption due to the recalibration process.
Does anyone know if ordinary IDE hard drives are now A/V compliant also, and which models? I want to capture and play video from a hard drive without interruption due to recalibration of the drive.
