Hi, I've tried all means of capturing DV -> Firewire -> PC and have run into a slight problem. Yes, a slight one becuase thanks to this site I found a program called WinDV that will actually capture from my old Sony Handycam.
It used to be a huge problem and I'm still interested to find a solution to this.
I downloaded the trial versions of Cyberlink PowerDirector and PowerProducer and they both give the same error.
Whenever I select the Capture tab and press "PC cam" I get this message;
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program C:\Program\CyberLink\PowerProducer Express\Producer.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the support team bla bla bla
;and the same message also appears in Pinnacle 9.0
I also have a problem when running dxdiag as I get a message asking me if I want to skit the test of DirectShow since last test failed.
If I select to not skip dxdiag crash and burn.
I've installed new driver to the gfx card. Didn't help.
Directx 9.0c, didn't help either.
I've got:
AMD 2400
NVIDIA Geforce4 MX 440 AGP8X
I capture though Firewire
Hope someone has a good idea about what's messed up.
Btw, when I capture with WinDV the picture gets very edgy, comby, sticky (choose what's most suitable since I don't know how to describe it better) but when I play it from the comp to a TV it looks good. Is that normal?
