My Pioneer DVD player is not compatible with MP2.
A friend is trying to help me by using DIKO and his Soft Encode to produce a DVD with AC3 audio to test with my DVD player.
We are trying to get my DVD player and A/V receiver to provide sound out of all 5.1 speakers using Dolby Prologic on my A/V equipment. I realize that this is not 'true' surround sound - but that is OK.
Regardless of the settings he uses in DIKO, the softencode.ini, etc the results are the same:
The 'digital' led on the A/V receiver is lit and pressing the 'Dolby ProLogic' button produces sound in the 2 front left and right, centre speaker and subwoofer. The rear surround sound speakers have no sound.
In comparison, when we watch a regular (non SVHS) video tape or plain old cable TV (not through a digital box) the following happens:
The 'digital' led on the A/V receiver is * not * lit and pressing the 'Dolby ProLogic' button produces sound in all 5.1 speakers.
Thanks in advance for all help.
