  1. Is it worth switching to Nero 6.0 from the latest 5.5.10 version?
Any improvements in the buring process? (I dont care much for the other software addons)

    Umm...

If you're happy with 5.5, I'd say "no".

On the other hand, if you mostly use Nero for CD's (I haven't burnt a single DVD with it, there are just much better tools out there) then 6.0 is a step up in the CD department.

  4. No big difference if you were familiar with the right options to choose within Nero 5.5. - but: Nero 6 sets these right = most compatible options for movies DVD as default!!! So you don't need to set them each time manually when you want to burn movies on a DVD.

    ISO/UDF 1.02
    No Joliet
    ISO Level 1
    No relaxations

    etc.

If you didn't set these options within Nero 5.5. some DVD-Players wouldn't play the DVD. And that's how Nero got a pretty bad reputation among many people.

  5. The only thing I complain about is that Nero 6 won't erase my DVD-RW's. It gets about 25% done and gives me a power calibration error. Everything else works fine though.

  6. I noticed a very stupid bug in Nero 6

you cannot check the menu checkbox for a SVCD, because nero complains about missing mpeg-2 plugin (which you don't need at all)

Am I wrong or it's a shame for the new version of this really good product.
    Best wishes,

Well, Coopervid, your post confuses me. I just installed the latest Nero 6.6 (I was previously using 5.5.10.0). When I choose the DVD-Video compilation preset, the default configuration is for a straight-up ISO Level 2 Disc......it does not appear to use UDF! Moreover, the option to include joliet is disabled.

I am interested in burning DVD-Video plus Data to the same DVD. I would like to try the UDF/ISO preset, but I am afraid that I wouldn't get a good DVD. I understand that VOB's, for instance, need to be burned sequentially on the media, and I'm not sure if Nero will notice the video content if I don't use the DVD-Video preset!

Does anyone have a clue here?
