Anyone play? I'd like to get a group going on a private yahoo table sometime. Prefereably not during work hours. This is for play money.

I watch it all the time on TV now that it's an official Sport on ESPN

I watch the World Poker Tour. And I have started to play online also...just for fun...no money yet...
-
I play. For fun mostly. We play for money on the weekend sometimes.

When I was in Vegas last month I played for the first time at a casino. Only lost $200 in about 8 hours of play. Would have broke even but some sorority girl beat me for a huge pot with a higher full house.

I play every Friday night, I'm a diva. I play for cash, if its play money the whole idea of bluffing goes out the window.
You need to have the ability to go all in and not set raising, that defeats the whole concept of hold-em -
I'd like to play...I'm new to the poker thing so I think it would be good practice.

Playing for fun lets you understand the hands and the concept but until you play for money you are not really playing.
You care about losing a thousand pounds, who cares about losing play chips, not me, and if you do your one sad chap. -

I dont care.I'll play for money if you can figure ouit a way to do it. I play on yahoo now anyway. I'd rather be playing with people I know.
-
We could do it the same as play chips accept they have a monetary value, we square up at the end with paypal.
-
I play in both the casinos and online. While I agree with those who say it's not the same with play chips, I only play online for play chips just to work on betting stategies. More fun to save the cash for the casinos.
A lot of the art of the game is lost online as there are very few tells, and the the bluff is all but lost. -

The reason I suggested we dont play for money is I think more people are willing to play if money is not involved, at least in the beginning. Rus - if you can recruit paying players cool, but I'm going to promote a no stakes table to see if I can get things rolling.Anyone who does want to play will need to sign up for a yahoo email to log in.

I've been watching it played on the World Poker Tournament. Just started playing it on the computer and I'm alright I spose.
Need to learn way more before I'd start betting money on it. For now my game of choice when it comes to real money is Black Jack. -
I'll poker.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -
I'm definitely interested!
Someone pick a Site and time and post what table you're at when you start play.
I usually play at PokerStars but I'll do Yahoo - haven't played real money yet on line yet but do play real at monthly poker nights...
On a side note: A buddy of mine plays all the time at PokerStars and when he accumulates $1,000,000 he sells the play money on eBay - he's made just over $100 (usually gets $25 +/- per million)... This may not be much for us older guys but for some of our younger viewers... -

All jokes aside...
Since I dont know how to play well, and I'm not charitable, I dont want to give my money away. Let me know if anyone wants to play a non monetary game. -
While I think it defeats the nature of the game, I will play with you guys just for some round the table banter.

some round the table banter.
or
you never count your money, when your sitting at the table
there'll be time enough to count.....
