  1. I was wondering if anyone know of any site on the internet with a comparison of different DVD recorders, and that has clips to download so that you can compare the recording quality for your self?

  3. 5 secs would be enough, at 6000 kbit/s that would be ~4 Mb if i made my calculations correctly. That's not really much.

A 4MB file ... times 50 recorders .... times ... oh.... let's be generous (on the very, very low side) 250,000 monthly visitors .... like I said .... bandwdith of death.

    No. Not gonna happen.

  5. Aren't we being a bit negative here? I never asked for 50 recorders. I would be happy with 5. I just asked whether there were any such things out there whatsoever. I realize bandwidth can be a problem, but can't see how that would rule out any such thing ever existing. How on earth would anyone provide anything popular for download then?

How are these sites managing for instance?

And 250.000 monthly visitors doesn't equal 250.000 monthly downloads.

OK, enough with this. I would also be interested in simple single-image comparisons. That can't mean any bandwidth problems...

I am asking this because I recently bought a recorder and I am not quite happy with the quality. I think it could be because of a cheap tuner maybe. I am considering getting rid of it and getting a new one, but only if I can get some sort of idea how much better it would (or could be).
