  1. I want to include some PDF files as data on my video DVD. What's the best authoring package to use for this?

All the authoring software I've looked at brags about how easy it is to put dancing boloney on my menus, and none of them list the ability to mix video and data. I'm sure it can be done. I'm relying on you all to clue me on in how.

    Thanks!

If you don't need to do anything special, then I believe all you need to do is create a folder at the root of the dvd, and drop the pdf's in there.

  4. I have a one-pass DVD burner, so I will need to do this all in one step. Is there an authoring package that will both copy my video and copy my data files?

Does your authoring package allow you to output the DVD directory structures and contents to your hard drive so you can burn with something like Nero ? If so, write it all to your hard drive, add the directories that you need, then burn the lot to disk. Try it on an RW first, just to be sure.

guns1inger is correct. It works great, I do it all the time when I want to include some photos or other data. I usually create a folder called "extra". It's probably a good idea to use Lower-cased letters for that folder. I then use Nero to burn the VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS and extra folders to the DVD. I've distributed hundreds of these disks, so far no problems.
