Mixing Audio Tracks in a video

Okay so say I have an mkv file with three audio tracks, right? But I want certain scenes to have one audio track played, while other scenes have another audio track played. How would I go about doing this?

option 1: most media players allow you to toggle audio tracks, so you can manually do it while playing

option 2: re-create an new audio track from segments of 3 audio tracks in an audio editor e.g. audacity, then repackage into a new .mkv with mkvmerge
