  1. Hello all,
I have recently purchased this device, simply for it being external and cheap. I do however, need advice regarding the best way to capture with this device as I am recieving various results with certain softwares and capture settings. I have used for this action a few softwares like Ulead DVD movie Factory 2SE, 3, Neo DVD (dont remember version) and WinDVR 3.
Some of the results are as follows:

-> Video and audio do not sync...
->Video is choppy/ blocky (does not run smooth when playing back in DVD)
->Video and audio are synchronized but the overall quality is bad.

Since I do not own a DVD burner yet, the best quality I can make movies to view in my DVD player, are SVCD movies.

What I would like to ask is this:
    1. Why am I getting these different results?
    2. What should be the settings to recive the best quality movie without sync problems and without missing frames?
    3. Can I make chapters / tracks on a SVCD disc?
    4. What is the best, capturing software in your opinion?
    5. For best quality in SVCD format, what should be the ratio for 1 minute movie? i.e. how large should a movie file of 1 minute be?

My system specs are as follows:
    - Sony CCD-TRV 418E (PAL camcorder)
    - Asus A7N8X-Deluxe mainboard
    - AMD Athlon XP 2400 (2 Ghz)
    - 512 MB Ram (Corsair 2700DDR)
    - Avermedia EZmaker DVD usb 2
    - Ati Radeon 9700 Pro
    - Nvidia's "Sound Storm" built in audio on mainboard

Thank-you for the patience and for reading
If it's working... don't touch it.
