    Have some HDTV.avi I need to convert so I can watch on DVD player (PAL tv set).

    What is the most efficent format regards both size and quality to convert to ?

    What program is best to convert with ?

    I tried burning with nero 6.6.0.3 to SVCD but don't have the necessary MP4 plugin.

    Have looked at the guides but couldn't find this particular conversion (not sure which format anyway).

    Can someone give me the basics please ?

    Thanks, the reason it wouldn't load in an encoder was of course, no codec ! Duh ! I thought I had loaded one and didn't even check. Now for some fun.
