I've been using ProDiscs 4X inkjets for awhile. Media code S03. They've all burned perfect, no problems at all. I just ordered some more and they show up now as S04 instead of S03. I've been reading that these are the first generation 8X versions from Prodisc, but I bought them as 4X not 8X. Anyone have any experience with the S04s burning at 4X?
I got them from supermediastore with the same ordering number, just that the cake box has a slightly different label.
Prodisc S03 label
ProDisc 4x DVD-R
Prodisc S04 label
Prodisc 4X W.I. DVD-R
Anyone know what the W.I. stands for?

I have burned one as a test for another user on my NEC 3500 and the burn was fairly good. Not as good as Ritek G05s or TY or Ricoh but PI errors were under 40. Keep in mind that this was a 3500 and I would expect higher error rates on most other burners. This is what I have experienced and seen.
Also be aware that Prodisc currently is shipping four different media codes for their 8X and three different codes for their 4X so you may have trouble getting S04s again.Still a few bugs in the system... -
