Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should examine to use to repair scratchy/whining audio on DVD files? I've got some TV shows (public domain stuff) that were transfered from VHS to DVD, and some of the episodes/files have either a loud scratchy noise or a whining noise running over the audio track.
I am guessing it is due to the VHS not being run through a TBC before being recorded to the DVD, but that's just a guess. I just know I need to do something to get rid of or reduce the horrible noise problem. Any recommendations on where to start my search and/or repairs greatly appreciated.
Oh, I was told VirtualDub might be a place to start, but that looks like it is only for video editing and repairs - or am I wrong?
