    Sometimes, VLC throws up error when playing an avi (xvid) file and gives a msg that the file is broken, seeking will not work correctly, repair ? How do I fix those avi files. There must be some repair tool out there ? right !

    VirtualDub works well for that. When you select 'Open video file', go to the bottom of that page and click 'Ask for extended options after his dialog' before selecting your file. Then click on 'Re-derive keyframe flags'. Then it will rekey the video stream. Then you can resave it and it should be OK.

  3. hello, i did all the steps redwudz said and everything seems to work just fine but the size of the video file become too big and i think the software cut out the bad part of the video. can u help me cause i'm kinda noob in this kind of stuff

    Make sure Video (at the top) is set to "direct stream copy", instead of "full processing"

  5. thanks davexnet...is the software automatically cut out the bad part? are there any way to repair without cutting out the bad part because if can i wanna watch the full video

    If this procedure did not fix it, the file is probably damaged beyond repair.
