I have two problems with my VCDs. The menu flickers like the vertical hold is messed up and FF/Rew locks up the player. I am using a Phillips to play and Nero to burn. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Are your menus in the right format NTSC or PAL?
Seams that your TV is not compatible with the frequency of the menu.
PROBLEMS WITH FF/REW
I had a philips 710 a year back and had the same problem when i either captured with cinax WinVcr or converted a dvd with flask or any other program. I fixed it with MpegTools in TMPGEnc (File/MPEG Tools/Cut&Join).
It will not reencode, just copy the file with the right info in it for ff/rew at a philips.
I hope this will solve your problem.

R u making SVCD?
Nero does not create a Scandata.dat for SVCD.
Most players require this to RW/FW SVCD.
For Menu's, you must push "play" not just hit "1"
