  1. Hey, can someone tell me a way I can convert my AVI to SVCD without losing any quality at all? Every method I've tried always loses some quality!!!

Also, when I split a mpeg with bbMPEG which should I choose for highest quality, MPEG-2 or SVCD?

Lol also.... could someone tell me if my dvd player (Pacific 1001) will play a svcd if its burned on a DVD+RW disk?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kernal

I suggest you need to read a few guides. They are linked on the left of this page under 'convert'

In this case you need to read the 'what is' section of this site. Again on the left, at the top this time!

Left again, this time 'DVD Players'

All the info you requested is already available if you take the time to look for it and do a bit of research.

I have seen all of these, but for the AVI TO SVCD none of them say that I will not lose any quality... I want a method where i will not lose any! I have tried many, but all lose some quality.

You obviously have not read the WHAT-IS section or browsed the forum much. If you have you would realise that what you ask is not possible. ANY sort of conversion/re-encode results in at least some loss of quality. If you have a high quality avi and re-encode to something like SVCD, you may well lose a fair bit of quality. SVCD can look nearly as good as DVD if done properly, but it takes practice, learning, research and most of all patience. There is no magic bullet or fool proof method that works everytime.
