what tools do you convert with? if tmpgenc then convert the audio to wav and use it in tmpgenc, www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc#problems . Or convert the audio separate with ffmpeggui and then join the video and audio when you author with tmpgenc dvd author.

  4. What you could do is extract your audio from your avi and convert it to mp2 format. Then render your avi to mpeg 2. Now, multiplex your rendered video with your audio file.

  5. Thanks for all your help. But I got it fixed. I used TMPHENC Express 3.0 to do it all for me. It took 2 hours. But it's done.

  6. I just want to make sure on this one.

Why does it take so long to conevert from avi to mpeg? I have a whole bunch on avi's that need to be conevert to mpeg so i can make up my own dvd.

Is their a nice bit of software out there that will make it quicker.

Just now I have been using TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress to do it.

TmpGenc is a pretty slow encoder, but its quality is good. If you want a faster encoder you could try Cinemacraft or MainConcept.

  8. Thanks for this, I just tried both apps', the speed is way better, before on 'TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress' the converstion was about 3 hours odd.

I tried both 'Cinemacraft' & 'MainConcept', the converstion speed is now 34mins. What a diffrence.

However I like 'MainConcept', it just seems easer to set my own tweeks.
