  1. Vegas Video, MediaStudio Pro, Premiere, Avid Xpress, M2-Edit Pro, etc.

There are so many. Does any of them cut MPEG1 and MPEG2 files perfectly?

What's the best for an amateur? I don't need many frills, just cutting up home movies before SVCD or DVD burning.

    Valnar,

    There is also Wombo (MPEG2VCR)
Will do MPEG1/2 and accurately, AND, its NOT a monster (those big, huge apps
that will eat hard space, RESources, RAM, etc.)
    * It's a small app, loads in a couple of seconds and all you do is bring in an
    MPEG clip.
    * Has some minor special affects - transitions, for instance (but I don't
use any of them). I guess you would say its limited in features, but is enough for
    most people (ME)
    * Also, doesn't have a time-line, if that's what you want. It not real fancy, and
wont require a genious to operate, as with the above mentioned apps.

Good luck in finding the right app for your MPEG projects. Use search engines
to find what you're looking for INformation on. ie, Google.com is a start.
In search engine window, in the phrase box, type:

    ie, "reviews on Premier"
    ie, " pros/cons "premier"

You'll find UNdreds or thousands even.

    Later.

  5. pinoy2201 and everyone who works with m2 Edit Pro.
I installed this software on my Win2K and Win98SE, and in both cases, it won't launch. I see a screen with the program, title for half a second and then it disappears. I have the latest DirectX8.1 and DirectX Media 6 installed, but this does not help. Do you know of any particular reason why this program will not start? Many thanks for your help!!!
