Hi, I have a film in two halves as AVIs. Whrn I try to convert them with Virtualdub I get a warning box saying they are two different Audio samples. When I check one is 6 channel AC3 audio the other is 5 channel AC3 audio. Now is there a way I can convert one of them to the same audio as the other? I assume I have to reencode one of them, how do I do this?

    Hi SilverDales,

You need to find an audio editor that handles 5 and / or 6 channel AC3. My suspicion is these will be pricey. I believe that Sonic Foundry Soft Encode might be the tool to do the job, there may be others.

Or, if you're not bothered about going to 2 channels from 5 or 6, you could export the AC3 to WAV and use that with each AVI file.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

    Carpe diem.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
