Is there any way to get the tv wonder to capture in 480x480 in Win2000 Pro? I have MMC 7.1, the vcd recording is great. I know how to edit the registry, is there possibly something in there that would allow 480x480 capture?

I am useing win 98 and have the same problem.
Everything is 480x240 or 352x240.
I second the motion...does anyone know -
bigbadbob and vcdman24,
Yes, there is. I've done it a zillion times on my. I know, I know.
. . .I don't have windows 2000. I have windows 98 in my system.
But, I have done it soo many times for my ati-tv wonder card.
you can do 480x480 easy. The faster you system, the better!
I don't know if it will work for AVI captures, cause I don't remember
do it at the time. I was testing my real-time MPEG1 captures with
it back then. But, since nobody had the .reg file here, I took it
upon myself to modify the .reg file and do it myself. Took a while,
but I figured it out. I don't give up too easy!
Keep looking. Someone here is bound to have it, or a link to an
site to do just this. In fact, there is one here. Look to the tools
section, or go here for his samples
or this should do it here, and just read on!
It's up to you to read and learn!
My Samples page -
Do you use the 7.1 drivers?
Because the size reg hack is for 6.x
Do you recomend I find an older copy of mmc?
Thanks -
Also remember this is just the tv tuner not the card with video and capture.
Heheh another also, when I make the reg changes the custom setting is actualy removed.
Any ideas? -
vcdman24,
"you'll keep at it". . . were you refereing to trying to D/L any clips?
or visiting for newer look?
Oh, and thanks for the compliments. I'm not actually trying to have
the nicest page, just a better NAVigational page, and less clutter
thrown all over it - which is kindof how it is starting to look.
I'm looking into FRAMES. Having problems finding the right app
to do it in. I DON'T WANT <tags> hE, HE....
You could try and older one. The one I used was mmc 6x or 6.3 that
came with my card. MS did a good job if reg file. ...wanted to keep
us out so they could put there bugs in there - the little sneaks!
If you have it, try the other mmc version lower. See if that helps.
You're in windows 98, so you shouldn't have any problems installing
a lower version mmc. Should work. Just remember, the tricky part
to getting it all to work without quality loss is how you set your codec
and capture app's settings. Get those down pat, and you're in
business. Before you know it, you'll have the perfect asyn. system
going! -
vcdman24,
Y E S! ya bum!
You have to:
* start TV app
* perform your settings (setting or config button)
* then close down TV app
* hack your .reg - oops, I mean modify your .reg file
* close regedit
* open TV app (DO NOT EVEN PRESS SETTING OR CONFIG BUTTON)
* ONLY press the record/stop button
You have your modified 352x480 or 480x480 capture clip.
If you even open your settings or config button, a hidden refresh
is done and the changes will revert back to either the built-in
defaults or your last setting per ATI built-in settings.
Do NOT be tempted to see what the setings will look like, else
it will revert back. And, you'll have to re-do the above steps again!
Good luck! -
vcdman24,
yes, and you should also state that more clearn.
ie, ATI-TV Wonder (does wonders for me, when I see it this way)
TV wonder could mean a lot of things.
ie., when I see AWI or AIW, I just move on because its too
dam confusion to wonder which card they're asking for help on.
YOU have to be clear! Period! Too many AIW cards out there!
