  1. Hi all,
I need some advice about a little problem that I recently started having with several of my backups that are in divx, xvid, and 3ivx format and some of them have ac3 audio and the rest have pcm audio.
I am running windows xp pro on a HP Pavilion with a 766 MHz celeron processor, 290 Mb of sdram, 60 Gb western digital harddrive, and a memorex dvd-r-rw recordeable drive with a speed of 4x. The media that I am using is Imation dvd-r 4x, Imation dvd+r 4x, and Spin-X dvd+r and when I burn any converted movies to dvd then I burn at 2.4x for best results.
Here is my delima, I recently aquired the msblaster worm and had to reinstall windows. After I reinstalled windows then I reinstalled in the following order mediaplayer 10, directx9, realplayer10, quicktime, ace mega codecs pack the latest stable release, keopis xvid codec the latest stable release, 3ivx codec the latest stable release, all the divx codecs including the divx 5.2.1 codec, ffdshow the latest stable release, tmpgenc the same version I have always used with excellent results prior to the worm, virtualdub the same version I have always used with excellent results prior to the worm, dvdsanta the same version I have always used with excellent results prior to the worm, and nero the same one I have always used with excellent results prior to the worm.
Before the worm, I would convert the movies to dvd using dvdsanta with great results whether I play the finished product on the computer or a standalone player and they would play great but now I get no errors about missing codecs, filters, or files and gspot shows that I have the correct codecs for the movies but when I convert them now, they jerk severly, out of synch, or show green pixels and sometimes just audio with a green screen. I have tried several times with the same results which are crappy. Could someone please help me get my problem straightened out? I need to know if I installed everything in the correct order. Do I need to configure the codecs a certain way? Is there something I forgot? The movies are not the problem because these are the same ones I have saved to dvds as data disks in their original avi format and put the dvds in a safe and clean place. What is my problem? Please-Please-Please help........
