I have been trying to switch over to Linux from Windows for a while now. DVD backing-up was the one thing that kept me from making the switch. Linux native solutions are, IMHO spotty at best for this; StreamDVD fails every time, lxdvdrip I could not get to work. With the latest version of Wine, and a nice little utility called WineSetupTK, I got Shrink working great! And with libdvdread and libdvdcss, I can shrink encrypted disks without first ripping to the HD.
Bye Bye Redmond!
