Lite-On LVW-5005B DVD recorder

Hi,

I've just purchased the Lite-On LVW-5005B DVD recorder and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I've been looking at a product called the Phantom PVR http://www.satalogue.com/section16/page8.htm and was wondering if anyone knows whether this would work with the Lite-On recorder?

Any help would be much appreciated.

OK. I bought the Phantom PVR anyway to give it a try. I have had some success.

Because of the time it takes the 5005 to power up from standby and be ready to record, the standard way of seting the Phanton PVR up wouldn't work. However the workaround I found after some trial and error was as follows:

1) Select button 1 on the Phantom PVR and program as follows:
a)Stop
b)Record
c)Stop

2) Select button 2 and program as follows:

a)Stop
b)Stop
c)Stop
d)Stop
e)Stop
f)Stop


Normally the buttons would be set as 1) Timer, Power, Record and stop and 2) as 1 and down button (to select the source.

For this to work the unit has to be on (not in standby) and already on the input source you want to use.

Hope this helps anyone considering getting this device. Oh and just for reference when using with a video recorder as intended it works flawlessly and is worth every penny.
