I finally got two of these discs the other week. From the day I ordered them til the day they arrived, it took about 2 weeks!

They are Verbatim brand. They burn very quickly (around 2x - 2.4x, per the label). The first layer seemed to verify successfully (I surmise, because it was going on verifying for approximately the same amount of time it takes to verify a single-layer disc), but verification failed at the start of the other layer. I copied series two of The Office and so far it all plays back fine, including my original TiBook combo drive and Sony settop player.

Overall pleased with the experience, but at almost $10 a pop, these experiences will be few and far between.

wow, one thing i noticed is that 8x disks are now down to about 50 cents apiece. And for good ones at that i might add.

hopefully the DL disks will drop soon, if nothing the intro of 16x dvd disks will make the 8x ones even cheaper!
