  1. ok, couple of questions and comments on this player.

first of, great machine, has played damn near everything i have thrown at it,so far about 4-5 no plays out of about 100, 3 due to qpel and two unknown reasons.

has anyone had a prob with memorex dvd-r 4x, i had 6 discs burnt of that media, two played fine, and the other 4 sounded like they were scraping in the maching during load, then 90% of the time those 4 would just have the cd tray re-open without loading. i burnt those 4 movies onto a different dvd-r media and they worked perfectly. so maybe a prob with memorex dvd-r?

also i found that divx files joined with project divx, did not play sound, the unmerged files played fine, and after just doing a quick save as avi in virtual dub, they worked fine

having a few problems trying re-encode the qpel files, when i tried dr divx, they loaded and played, audio was good, but the video was very choppy, like it was misssing every other frame

so i tried virtual dub, but when i load the avi i get error loading frame 0 and then it wont let me do anything.

i searched for days on these forums trying to find a solution that seems to work and have yet to find one, so if anyone has a proven method, please help.

also what causes audio to keep cutting in and out and getting out of sync i have two videos that do this.

i suppose thats all for now

thanks for any help anyone has

  2. only one I can answer is about the memorex media. Memorex dvd-r 4x discs work fine on my player. Memorex uses different manufactures though. The ones I got were prodisc s03's. They work in the xbox too, but my daewoo 5800 won't read 'em so i guess i'm back to riteks or maxells next time around.

whats the media code on your memorex discs.. if its CMC its not working just because they're crappy discs. heh. I think i'm going to avoid memorex next time, cause you never know what you're gonna get with them.
