I successfully burned a video disc almost a year ago. Cant seem to get it done now. HP300i still burns DVDs from .vob files, and I did burn video disc sets from same .vob files using Intervideo DVDCopy...though sound was slightly unsynched. VCDs are pixelized and choppy on a DVD player, however ALL play fine on PC drives. I've tried mpg1 , mpg2, DVD "special" mpg2,as Showbiz refers to it,and problem is burning VCDs after creating movies that I've saved as mpegs using Arcsoft Showbiz. Months ago I installed FFDShow, but never touched settings! I'm fairly certain I recently installed a codec update. (for what?...)
1)is "special" DVD compliant mpg2 format meant
    only for DVD disc?
    2)for VCD, mpg1 or 2....either?
    3)when choosing format,should I not select Video
disc rather than mpg1 or 2?
Note:last 2 attempts resulted in creating mpeg2 file on the CD rather than folders with .dat file and vcd files, which are needed for DVD player...correct?(player which does not read mpeg files directly)

If your files are mpeg 2 you need to create SVCD. Look in the section to the upper left of your screen that says what is SVCD.
