A great machine but a bit hit and miss with downloaded AVI files. Can anyone recommend the best way of (re)encoding video files for maximum compatibility with this machine ?

    Cheers

I have an AV320 and 400. Reccomendation: Dont bother. I spent hours just realizing its easier to use Archos' hardware encoder. Better quality and Easier. Yoh can convert the(im assuming pirated) .avi files to dvd, then encode them. Other than that your best shot would be mess around with FFMpegX.
